What is private jet charter?
Chartering a private jet means booking the whole aircraft for your trip: your route, your date and your departure time. It is the most flexible way to fly private.

How charter pricing works
Charter is mostly priced by flight time. Each aircraft type has an hourly rate, and the quote adds the costs of the trip. Typical hourly rates:
- Turboprop: about $2,000–3,500 per hour
- Light jet: about $3,500–5,500
- Midsize: about $5,000–7,000
- Super-midsize: about $7,000–9,500
- Heavy: about $8,500–12,000
- Ultra-long-range: about $11,000–17,000
On top of flight time, a quote can include US federal excise tax (7.5% on domestic flights), segment and landing fees, crew overnight costs, and repositioning if the jet has to fly empty to reach you. Round trips with a long stay may also include the cost of the aircraft flying home and back.
